| Many of our nature hikes & birdwalks take place at The Commons Nature Preserve located behind the McFarlen Public Library, 515 Perry Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. The lovely illustrated view of the preserve below may take a moment to appear (image file: 155kb), but we hope you find it was worth the wait. See our calendar of Events for the next scheduled stroll through this lovely place. More maps available; see below. |

![]() Tip: to print map without headers etc.,
"right click" mouse while pointing to the illustration; select "print
picture" - it will easily fit on one 8.5"x11" page. The illustration above,
revised in August 2002, reflects changes at the nature preserve since the original drawing
was completed in '98. The most significant: a large pond added in 2001 attracts water
loving creatures. You can still access the original "map" by clicking the tiny
image to the left. As cute
as the illustration is, a large part of the northern section of the Commons is not
reflected. In 2005 our friend Alex Hill made an accurate map using GPS software
showing the nature preserve complete with trails, Thread Creek, pond and other key
features. |
