Dear
Friends:
Humans can be quite smug and self absorbed. Especially those
who think they have the universe all figured out, or expect that there is but one correct
answer to every question.
So, when customers ask: which hummingbird feeder does J.J. Cardinal
recommend? We show off the features and benefits of several designs...but
inevitably we gravitate to the simple twisted copper designs from Holland Hill.
That's because the hummingbirds in my yard gravitate to these feeders in a big way. They
are the hummer's first, second and third most popular feeders (among many) available too
them in my little neck of the woods. Perhaps it's the natural look and appearance with
twisted leaf-like perches. The smart design allow multiple feeders to be
"ganged" or grouped. Some folks even hang a small flowering plant below the
feeder. Hummingbirds sure love these simple little feeders hand-crafted from heavy gauge
copper and glass by artists right here in the USA. Or, maybe the appeal is minimal use of
extruded parts...only the red cap is made from plastic. Go figure.
My hubby (the faithful web-guy) and I enjoy the lyrics of Iris
Dement's "Let The Mystery Be":
Everybody's wonderin' what and where they
all came from. Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's
done. But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me. I think I'll just let
the mystery be. [more info]
Enjoy nature!

PS: not only do hummer's prefer Holland Hill design,
but so do Baltimore Orioles and many other birds [see more
