"worms" so the youngsters constructed a wormery out of quart size
jars, dirt, leaves, and jumbo worms. Eat dirt, you worm! More photos below... |

- center] Bat noses - Grand Blanc residents Gary and spouse (who
preferred not to be named) visited J.J.s to pick up a bat house kit & found a
bargain too cool to pass: free "bat noses"! The houses will offer
great natural insect control, but sorry Gary, the bat noses will not conceal your
identity. Thanks for visiting the store and being great sports! [above right] Mrs. Serra, 1st grade teacher at Settles Bridge Elementary, Suwanee, GA, visited J.J.s while in Michigan this summer & purchased polyphemus caterpillars for her classroom. We carefully packaged them in a plastic nursery cup along with a sandwich baggie full of food (black walnut leaves); she hoped the parcel would be unnoticed tuck in her handbag during her return flight home. We will keep you informed as to her return trip, and how her little caterpillars progress! [July '04] |

| Note from Louise: The boy with the 'peace sign' on his shirt (above/center) must have said to me, at least a dozen times, you stepped on an ant! I was on the sidewalk talking photos of the kids and ants were all around. I stepped on a few and it upset him greatly. I see a future sierra club member there! [July 2004] | ||
