Dowdall Elementary studentshere's the plain bag the kids are decoratingDowdall Elementary students

We recently went to Dowdall Elementary in Flint to present an idea; we asked the children of Carol Delorme’s 5th grade class if they would like decorate reusable canvas shopping bags for the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. They loved the idea and their two-person-per-bag teams are very excited to begin painting, coloring, gluing, and writing special Earth Day messages on the bags that will help promote the three R’s: Reuse, Recycle and Reduce. Two children will receive gift certificates to Boundless Arts art shop in Grand Blanc for their winning design. These decorated bags will be available for $6.97 the second week in April. Pictured here are some of the students saying “HI,” and they hope you stop in and purchase their bag. [03.14.2011]
