...and a warm heart....

...and a sip of water.
It has been said birds develop a sense about us humans. Always keenly alert to danger, birds also have the ability to detect those with a good, kind heart. So with sunflower seeds in hand and a bit of patience the Berak's find joy playing with black capped chickadees. In fact it can be about as much fun as one needs to have in order to be able to call it "a good day". Little miracles. Jeanne W. of Goodrich was glad she had a heated birdbath for the eastern bluebirds that stuck around long after snow began falling. The bluebirds were too.

young owl peaks from nest near High Point. Our friend, Art Parnell, shared this unique image of the Albino goldfinch. (late 2002) Art is a skilled nature photographer with a creative streak...and posts much of his work at: http://www.pbase.com/dataman. The zoom and magnification power is never quite enough to capture the beauty of the ruby-throated hummingbird, shown here enjoying fresh nectar from an attractive Holland Hill feeder (2002).
