Hummingbird imposter

Many customers ask about a rare hummingbird they've spotted. Often, what people are actually seeing is Hemaris thysbe, the Hummingbird Clearwing Moth, or Common Clearwing, with a wingspan of 38-50 mm (50 millimeters = 1.96..... inches). The Hummingbird Clearwing readily visits flowers by day throughout the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada.
