On a warm day recently, the Mantis pod at our counter display began to transform...hundreds of Praying Mantis were emerging. Louise was swift to click a picture of the blob of bugs pouring out of the pod and we've posted the image at our "garden page" - take a peak.

Ruth explains: "Traditional raku technique was modified by 'western' potters in the mid 20th century with the inclusion of an additional step, sometimes referred to as post-firing reduction, western raku, or smoking.
